US Federal Reserve Chair says American economy passes through rough recovery


(MENAFN)The American economy is passing through a rough recovery, stated the US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, he also wants to see stronger employment figures.

Powell further stated in an online IMF seminar, "There is a brighter outlook for the US economy from fiscal support, vaccines, but unevenness in recovery is a serious issue."

He stated wile referring to uneven data amid the strong recovery in employment in March but high jobless claims that were released that “We want to see a string of months like the March jobs report to see progress."

While the economy added 916,000 jobs in last month, the number of individuals filing first-time unemployment was more than 700,000 for a second consecutive week, after they recorded the lowest level in the Coronavirus with 684,000 for the week ending March 20.
