Tunisian President Receives AL Secretary General


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Tunis, April 5, 2021, SPA -- The Tunisian President Kais Saied received here today the Secretary General of the Arab League (AL) Ahmed Aboulgheit, currently on a visit to Tunisia.
A Tunisian Presidency's statement reported that the meeting has tackled follow-up of the AL secretariat general's activities and the latest developments related to the current Arab causes.
On the other hand, the Tunisian President underscored, during the meeting, the importance of endorsing a new approach for the joint Arab action, that recall the present, in order to look forward to the future.
He also called to review the texts, upgrade the structures, Arab specialized organizations and add much more efficiency on their works, in order that the AL may realize its objectives, that it was resurrected to fulfill and that its initiatives and activities may respond to the hopes of the states and the peoples of the region, their anticipations and to cope with the emerging challenges standing before them.
For his part, Aboulgheit said that the meeting with the Tunisian President has discussed the means to promote the AL and to make its work a success, in addition to other Arab issues, citing the forthcoming Arab summit.
