Iran’s natural gas consumption increases in last Iranian year


(MENAFN)The country’s natural gas consumption in the last Iranian year improved eight percent in comparison to the preceding year, according to Head of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC)’s Dispatching Department.

Mohammadreza Jolaei stated that the country consumed in the last year about 233 billion cubic meters of natural gas, as the figure reached at 216 billion cubic meters in 1398, IRNA reported.

About 122 billion cubic meters was consumed by domestic of the total gas consumption in the last year, commercial, and non-major industries, 24 billion cubic meters was the share of major industries and 66 billion cubic meters was allocated to power plants, he further declared.

The use by domestic sector and power plants hit new record highs but NIGC set to avoid any major blackouts even in the climax of the consumption periods, the official also stated.
