Botswana to make electric vehicles in August this year


(MENAFN)Baylee Enterprises (Pty) Ltd, a private firm headquartered in Botswana's capital city Gaborone, is anticipated to begin full output of electric vehicles in August 2021.

Peggy Serame, Botswana's Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, declared on Tuesday, March 30, that the firm is presently importing electric motors and other parts required to collect the electric vehicle in the southern African country.

"The company is planning to start full production by August 2021," Serame made the declaration in parliament while responding to a question from a member representative who required an update on the improvement and output of electric vehicles.

The firm has expanded the example of the electric car and it is presently experiencing fulfillment procedure with applicable stakeholders counting Botswana's Department of Road, Transport and Safety, according to Serame.
