Port in Turkey’s southern Mersin province to improve to 3.6M twenty-foot equivalent unit


(MENAFN)The country’s Transport and Infrastructure Ministry stated that the capacity of a port in Turkey’s southern Mersin province is going to be increased from 2.8 million to 3.6 million twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU).

Two mega container ships by a length of 400 meters are going to be capable to wharf at the same time at the Mersin International Port, following implementation of the development work.

The dock capability is going to be improved by 1 million TEU to stand at 1.8 million TEU.

The development project is going to be inaugurated during an event and to be attended by Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoglu.
