Jordan- House to discuss Slat hospital oxygen outage incident tomorrow

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Mar. 13 (Petra)- Lower House Speaker, Abdel Moneim Awdat, decided to invite the lawmakers to an emergency session Sunday morning, to discuss the causes and repercussions of the oxygen outage incident in the new Salt government hospital west of the capital Amman.
In a press statement put out on Saturday, Awdat expressed his "heartfelt" condolences to the victims' families, pointing out that all institutions are supposed to carry out their tasks without negligence in such difficult times.
The House Health Committee will hold a an emergency meeting today to discuss the incident, he noted.
The House, he said, will follow up on all the "catastrophe-related" details with the government at the Sunday's session.
Authorities should show zero tolerance in holding to account whoever proves to have committed negligence that caused this incident, and should assume "direct and moral" responsibility, according to Awadt.
Awdat appealed to concerned authorities to implement "urgent" measures aimed at providing "all recovery elements" for the rest of patients in all hospitals countrywide.
