Under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Fabio Cassese, Italian Ambassador to Jordan, The Grand Hyatt Amman today launched its long-awaited restaurant The Lombard, the go-to venue for an authentic modern Milanese lifestyle experience.
The Lombard replaces the once loved L’incontro at the Grand Hyatt Amman. It promises to bring to Italian cuisine lovers in Amman a truly authentic Italian experience, old-world charm, and a celebration of art, culture, food and a good life.
The menu builds on familiar Italian food offerings including fresh Pasta, Risotto a la Monzese, Pizzoccheri, Sbrisolona, and Casola among others, offering a modern perspective on historic recipes. The experience encompasses utterly delicious Milanese cooking, regional Italian and selected wines, a classic bar collection of vermouth inspired cocktails and old-school Aperitivo, all within an Italian old-world ambiance with 30s big band jazz playing vibrantly in the background.
Mr. Ashwini Kumar, General Manager, stated: “We heard what people had to say, we listened, and we are thus bringing to you an upscale but not overly expensive dining option, offering the best of Italian food, and a show at every touch point throughout the dining experience, starting from the design of the venue to food and drinks. It will be fun, vibrant, fashionable & elegant.”

The Lombard’s main Chef, Daniel Macioce, born & raised in Cremona, South Lombardia, studied at culinary school in Ponte de Legno and has 17 years’ experience working at top notch restaurants in Lombardia and around the world under his belt. His style is traditional, focusing on authenticity of the flavors, and he taps into his vast knowledge of the forgotten traditional Lombardian dishes he learnt from his mother.

The design of the Lombard is based on the classic 1930 Art Deco style and gives the feeling of understated luxury reminiscent of the era. The bar, the beating heart of the venue, is located under the remarkable dome recalling the dome of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan, and inspiration for the new restaurant’s logo. The city of Milan located in Lombardia, is best known for its Italian food culture, and it is the capital of fashion and design, hence, it perfectly represents the Italian “art de vivre”.

The new restaurant opens its doors on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, and from now on, bookings can be made by email (Thelombard.Amman@hyatt.com) or by calling T +962 6 465 1234, M+962 79 100 1222 .
