(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The region's leading food delivery and q-commerce app talabat, has announced a major innovation for the benefit of its vendors increasing the frequency in which they receive their remittance.

Having already set an industry-leading two-week cycle at the start of the pandemic, talabat partners will now receive their payments every three days.

"The initiative is designed to further strengthen cash flow and shows talabat Qatar's unwavering commitment to empowering their partners to drive their businesses during the pandemic," it was explained in a statement.

Commenting on the importance of prioritising local partners and small businesses across the country, Francisco De Sousa, managing director of talabat Qatar said: 'It goes without saying that locally grown businesses and SMEs took the hardest hit during the pandemic. At talabat, we have always prioritised the safety, and growth of all our partners, and will continue to do so, as we mirror our success with theirs. The decision to increase cash settlements with our partners is a proactive step that we're excited to be taking, and we look forward to the flexibility and growth it will bring to our entire ecosystem.

De Sousa also commented on the importance of industry leaders to prioritise local and small businesses during these difficult times: 'We urge all big players in their respective industries to truly consider what is best for their ecosystem, and proactively introduce sustainable changes to empower those within it. We continue to see a rising potential in Qatar-based startups and small businesses, capable in leaving a print in our country and beyond, and it's crucial to carry out the necessary adjustments to help them grow.

Further to increasing the frequency of payment to vendors, talabat Qatar has also introduced a series of measures to ensure their partners since the offset of the pandemic in order to sustain the impact it presented to the ecosystem.
