China's Fujian uses clean energy


(MENAFN)East China's coastal province of Fujian witnessed a soar in the improvement of clean energy over the last five years in its search of decreasing the use of coal and reducing carbon releases.

According to the State Grid Fujian Electric Power Co., Ltd, with main nuclear and wind power schemes in operation, the province witnessed its installed capacity of clean energy making grow to around 35.1 GW by 2020 from 25.3 GW five years ago.

Clean energy made up 55.1 percent of the total set up power making capacity in the province, with the share of nuclear power ranking first in the country.

The clean energy power plants produced 125.6 billion kWh of electricity in 2020, increased from 89.9 billion kWh in 2015, making up around half of the total electricity manufacture in the province, the State Grid branch added.
