Kuwait Bourse announces KD 28 mln net profit in 2020


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, March 1 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Bourse, on Monday, announced a net profit of KD 28 million (about USD 89.6 million) for the year ending on December 31 of 2020.
In a statement, Kuwait Bourse noted that it achieved this exceptional performance, with an increase of more than 190 percent, compared to 2019 profits, which amounted to KD 9.6 million dinars (about USD 30.7 million).
Furthermore, it added that its total assets amounted to about KD 104.2 million (USD 333.4 million), an increase of 187.8 percent compared to 2019.
It indicated that shareholders' equity increased by 64.5 percent from KD 32.1 million (USD 102.7 million) in 2019 to KD 52.8 million (USD 168.9 million) for December 31 of 2020.
The statement stated that the Board of Directors recommended in the meeting held today distributing cash dividends of 40 fils per share (subject to the approval of the General Assembly and the competent authorities).
The Bourse Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hamad Al-Humaidhi, said that despite the extraordinary circumstances due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Kuwait Bourse continued its series of achievements and its strategy in order to be one of the best financial markets in the region. (end)
