Bolivian gov't begins extraordinary immunization campaign to fight coronavirus


(MENAFN) On Thursday, Feb. 25 the Bolivian government started the biggest vaccination drive in its history in the eastern city of Santa Cruz to immunize residents with coronavirus vaccines produced by Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm.

The drive was launched by Bolivian leader Luis Arce, joined by administration officials and envoys of the Chinese Embassy to Bolivia.

People with fundamental medical states were the first to be immunized.

Monica Alejandra Cruz, the first recipient at the National Center for Tropical Diseases in Santa Cruz, stated: "with this vaccine we feel safe, so that all my colleagues with whom I do dialysis three times a week can be protected."
