Qatar- Justice Ministry steps up efforts to regularise real estate brokerage


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Director of the Real Estate Brokerage Department at the Ministry of Justice, Khalid Hassan Al Mehshadi, has said that it is mandatory for real estate brokers to take special courses offered by the Department to qualify them and upgrade their knowledge about the laws and regulations in this regard.

Speaking in a Qatar TV programme recently, Al Mehshadi said that the Department has stepped up efforts to regulate real estate brokerage practice to ensure the transparency and making its good name in local and international markets. 

'The courses are mandatory for real estate brokerage offices. Every office will take the course as it is necessary for obtaining licenses, said Al Mehshadi.

He said that more courses will be also organised for some purposes like classification of brokerage offices to build trusts of these offices in local and international markets.

'We have started preparing list of real estate brokerage offices operating in the country following the directive of the Ministry of Justice for a smooth operation and to serve interests of both parties, said Al Mehshadi.

He said that the list of real estate brokerage offices will be made public in coming time. 'The list will be uploaded on the dedicated page of the website of the Ministry of Justice with details of the office, its address to make ease for people  dealing with them, said Al Mehshadi.

He said that new laws and regulations helped making the roles of brokerage offices clear to build trust among people dealing with them. 'As per the law, the employees of the office will carry badges of their offices. The real estate deals will be taken place through attested contracts mentioning the commission in clear words to safeguard the rights of both parties, said Al Mehshadi.

The specialised training course for brokers are being held by the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Ministry to provide the participants with the information and skills necessary to apply provisions of law regulating real estate brokerage work. The Ministry of Justice is keen to develop the real estate brokers sector through a set of important and supportive decisions. The training course will qualify brokers and raise their professional level that qualifies them to take the legal oath and legally accredit them to practice the profession.
