Israeli forces attack farmers in southern Lebanon

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Beirut, Feb. 24 (Petra) -- The Israeli forces, Wednesday, opened fire on Lebanese farmers in the Marjeyoun District in the Lebanese southern Nabatieh governorate, according to Lebanese security forces.
The Israeli troops had not managed to kill or injure the farmers, the security source said, adding that the Lebanese army and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) sent their personnel to assess the situation.
The Lebanese army said that the Israeli army has committed a series of violations against Lebanon, chief of which are violating the Lebanese regional waters and launching drones over the southern part of the country.
The Lebanese army and the UNIFIL have launched a probe to investigate the Israeli violations, the source added.
