UN agency scheme improves business opportunities for Turks, Syrian refugees


(MENAFN)A UNDP envoy stated on Tuesday, February 23, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) is improving business opportunities for Turkish inhabitants and Syrian refugees in Turkey.

Faik Uyanik, head of communications for UNDP Turkey submits to a plan sustained by the European Union and implemented by the UNDP and the Turkish Industry and Technology Ministry that plans to develop the local economy through building industrial and innovation clusters.

According to the UNDP administrator, three innovation hubs and three model factories have lately become ready in the western province of Izmir, in southeastern Gaziantep, and the Mediterranean city of Mersin.

The areas have been hosting a large refugee inhabitants, while the country is presently home to over 3.6 million Syrian refugees.
