Kuwait- Iraq's daily COVID-19 cases exceed 4,000 for first time in four months


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Feb 19 (KUNA) -- Iraq's daily confirmed coronavirus cases rose to more than 4,000 on Friday for the first time since late October.
This brings the caseload across the country's provinces, including the Kurdistan Region, to 661,477 as the virus-induced death toll increased by 12 to 13,232, the health ministry said.
On the other hand, a total 614,529 people were cured of the virus.
Yesterday, the government began imposing a two-week partial lockdown to control the increasing numbers, reporting a significant number of cases infected with new strains of the virus. (end)
