Lorretta Favour Chizomam Ntoimo is a Sociologist/Demographer. She obtained her Ph.D. in 2012 at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and started her academic career in the same year as an Assistant Lecturer at Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, Nigeria. She was a Fogarty International Centre/University Research Centre postdoctoral fellow at the Demography and Population Studies Programme, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa in 2014. Currently, she is a Senior lecturer and the Acting Head of the Department of Demography and Social Statistics, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria. Dr. Ntoimo serves as a Guest lecturer at the World Bank established Centre of Excellence in Reproductive Health Innovation (CERHI), University of Benin, Nigeria. She is also an Associate member of Women's Health and Action Research Centre, a leading non-governmental organization in Nigeria, where she actively contributes to research planning, data collection and management, and writing for publication.
Dr Ntoimo is a highly motivated and result-oriented researcher whose primary goal is to contribute to family demography and reproductive health. She has participated in various capacities as a lead researcher, collaborator, field/regional supervisor, qualitative and quantitative data analyst, and project coordinator in reproductive health, demographic dividend, and family research projects. She is the social science Editor of the African Journal of Reproductive Health, and a member of the editorial board of other international and local journals. She currently has 48 publications in reputable journals and books and one co-edited book. She has presented papers, served as discussant, session, and side meeting organizer in several international and local conferences. Dr. Ntoimo has served as a guest speaker and facilitator in many academic workshops and seminars. She is a member of professional bodies such as the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP), Union of African Population Studies (UAPS), and International Sociological Association among others.
