(PSS), a portfolio company of CM Equity Partners (CMEP) and provider of mission-critical services to the federal government, announced that it recently appointed Cynthia Barreda as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In her new role, Ms. Barreda will work closely with Babs Doherty, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PSS to execute the company's strategy and vision.

As COO, Ms. Barreda will be responsible for leading, managing, and growing the company's revenue base, service delivery capabilities, technical competencies, and operational elements. In addition, Ms. Barreda will lead and oversee teams across all aspects of the company's market verticals to include PSS' Mission Solutions Group (MSG), National Security Group (NSG),, and Advanced Technologies Group (ATG).

Ms. Barreda joins PSS following a long and successful career as CEO of NetCentrics, a Virginia-based IT and cybersecurity provider. Ms. Barreda joined NetCentrics in 2002, and before her promotion to CEO, served as its COO, leading the company through rapid growth. Ms. Barreda, who holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and computer science from Jacksonville State University, is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in federal information technology strategy, program management, strategic planning, and process improvement. Before NetCentrics, Ms. Barreda was a principal at American Management Systems (AMS) and began her career as an information management specialist in the U.S. Government supporting the Department of the Army.
Ms. Barreda's dedication and determination is visible throughout the government community. In 2018, she was among the awardees of Comparably's Best CEO for Women and Best CEO for Diversity, as well as the 2018 Federal Entrepreneur by DCA Live. Ms. Barreda is also actively involved in the Small and Emerging Contractor Advisory Forum (SECAF) through CXO forums and the SECAF Government Contractor Awards and is on the Board of Directors of Women Veterans Interactive (WVI), an organization dedicated to addressing the needs of women veterans and their families.
