Doha: All travellers coming to Qatar from countries that are not on the Green List (low-risk) will need to undergo hotel quarantine and there will not be any exemptions from today (February 14), the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said in a tweet yesterday.
'From today; building on the previously announced return from travel policy to the State of Qatar, it is decided that any previous exemptions from hotel quarantine shall no longer apply for people returning back to Qatar from countries not on the green list. This new policy shall apply to all entries and exits from Qatar, said the Ministry.
The decision impacts those who have been exempted from hotel quarantine before travelling as well as visitors entering Qatar.
The Ministry earlier, confirmed that the existing quarantine policy for travel and return to Qatar for people coming from counties on the green list will remain in place. The Ministry shall keep these decisions under review and update them where appropriate based on public health indicators in Qatar and the rest of the world.
Also on Friday, the Ministry announced several updates on its Ehteraz application. It added a feature 'Set Quarantine Location that will appear under the QR code on the health status page of the app when applicable.
This is to be used only in situations either where the Blue Plate address is not available, or in cases where an individual chooses to remain in quarantine in a location other than their primary residence.
If the individual will carry out their quarantine in their primary residence which has a defined Blue Plate, they do not need to use this function on Ehteraz, as their primary residence will automatically be used by Ehteraz. Individuals will only be able to use this function one time, and the location will be locked once used.
