Samsung Galaxy S21 series receives February 2021 Android security patch | NewsBytes


(MENAFN- NewsBytes) Samsung has started releasing yet another update for the Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra. The firmware brings performance and camera improvements along with the latest February 2021 Android security patch.

The new build is also likely to fix the battery drain issue reported by some users after the previous OTA update. However, there is no mention of it in the official changelog.

  • The new software for the Galaxy S21 series carries version number G99xBXXU1AUB6 and has a download size of 257MB. It is currently being rolled out in Europe but a wider release is expected to happen in the coming weeks.

  • The Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra share the same punch-hole design with slim bezels, an integrated fingerprint reader, and an IP68 build quality.

    The vanilla S21 and Plus models sport a 6.2-inch and 6.7-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display, respectively, with 48-120Hz refresh rate.

    The mighty S21 Ultra bears a 6.8-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 10-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and S Pen support.

  • The S21 and S21+ pack triple rear cameras, comprising a 12MP primary sensor, a 64MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. They have a 10MP front camera.

    The S21 Ultra has a quad camera unit, including a 108MP main sensor, a 10MP periscope lens, a 10MP telephoto camera, a 12MP ultra-wide shooter, and a laser autofocus unit. It has a 40MP selfie shooter.

  • The Samsung Galaxy S21 series is fueled by an Exynos 2100/Snapdragon 888 processor, combined with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

    Under the hood, they run on Android 11-based One UI 3.0. The S1, S21+ and S21 Ultra house 4,000mAh, 4,800mAh and 5,000mAh batteries, respectively, with 25W wired and 15W wireless fast-charging support.
