Lebanon: 102 wounded as demonstrations turn aggressive in Tripoli


(MENAFN) According to a report by local media, on Thursday, Jan. 28, confrontations between demonstrators and security army in Tripoli, Lebanon's northern city, wounded 102 people.

A report on the Elnashra news website said that the demonstrations against coronavirus curfew and Lebanon's economic catastrophe carried on for the fourth straight day in Tripoli.

Confrontations began hours after a demonstrator lost his life from the injuries sustained in the confrontations in Tripoli Wednesday evening.

Demonstrators went to the streets where they started to throw Molotov cocktails, to which police in riot gear responded using tear gas.
