Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia to Announce a Strategy to Develop City of Riyadh


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Riyadh, January 30, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Yaum newspaper reported, in its editorial today, that His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince, deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, has stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will announce a strategy to develop the City of Riyadh as part of its plans to diversify sources of income and grow the economy, pointing out that Riyadh will be one of the ten largest economic cities in the world and its population will reach 15 - 20 million people in 2030.
In this regard, HRH the Crown Prince confirmed that the real development begins with cities, whether in terms of industry, innovation, education, services, or other sectors, the paper added .
The paper further added that the world economies are not based on nations, but on cities and Riyadh city represents about 50% of the non-oil economy in Saudi Arabia while the cost to create jobs in the city is 30% less than the other cities of Saudi Arabia .
The paper concluded by saying that the cost of developing infrastructure and real estate in Riyadh is also 29% less than the other cities. The infrastructure in Riyadh is already very well accomplished because of the sound management and planning, set by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in more than 55 years.
