International tourist arrivals to Cambodia drops 80 percent

(MENAFN)Cambodia got 1.31 million foreign tourists in 2020, dropped 80 percent from 6.6 million in the year before, Tourism Minister Thong Khon stated on Wednesday, January 27.

The sharp drop was produced by the coronavirus pandemic that obliged the kingdom to compel entry constraints for all foreign tourists since March last year, he added.

"To rehabilitate and promote the tourism industry in the post-COVID-19 era, the Ministry of Tourism has drafted a tourism roadmap for COVID-19 recovery," he stated in a speech throughout an ecotourism forum in northwest Siem Reap province.
