(MENAFN) On Friday, Jan. 22, the special administrative region's statistic department stated that compound consumer price index (CPI) of Macao for last year climbed by 0.81 percent annually to 102.60, with the inflation rate dropping 1.94 percentage points from the previous year to 0.81 percent.
The decline was stimulated by increasing charges for eating out and outpatient services, elevated rentals for dwellings, together with higher costs of fresh pork and gold jewelry, showed the most recent report from the Statistics and Census Service.
The cost indices of health, education and food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 4.02 percent, 3.54 percent and 3.37 percent annually each, while the indices of communication and clothing and footwear declined by 10.61 percent and 6.61 percent each.
The Composite CPI for the month of December of last year declined by 0.87 percent annually to 102.05, but expanded by 0.21 percent monthly.
