(MENAFN) On Friday, Jan. 22, Statistics Canada reported that Canadian retail trade increased 1.3 percent to about USD43,328 billion during November of last year.
Because of higher trade in food and beverage stores, together with a rise in e-commerce sales, it was the seventh straight month-on-month gain.
Ruling out gasoline stations and motor car and parts dealers, core retail trade rose 2.6 percent on more sales at food and beverage and general commodities stores, along with building material and garden apparatus and supplies dealers.
The sales of food and beverage stores expanded 5.9 percent and supermarkets and other groceries excluding convenience stores which rose 6.5 percent.
