Qatar University signs MoU with CNA-Q


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Qatar University (QU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College of North Atlantic in Qatar (CNA-Q) for cooperation in education, training, programme development, and research.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, Qatar University President, and Acting President of CNA-Q, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi. Officials and guests from both institutions attended the event.

The MoU emphasised the cooperation and collaboration methods between the two entities, especially in academic and training programmes and activities, conducting joint research and enhancing technical, research, training, cultural, and developmental cooperation in the various specializations provided by both institutions. 

This includes curricula development, exchanging academic information and carrying out joint research activities and publications, exchanging academic information and materials, and the design and implementation of continuing education programs based on both parties' respective needs. 

The collaboration will also provide a framework for exchanging experiences in professional development programmes, seminars, conferences, and academic meetings. Other academic exchanges and activities that both parties may agree upon, such as research and studies, access to simulation and research laboratories, and possible mutually beneficial fields, would also be covered.

Commenting on the MoU, Qatar University President Dr. Hassan Al Derham, said: 'The constructive cooperation between Qatar University and the College of North Atlantic in Qatar began since the College's establishment. QU has always served the College with its expertise in the education and management.

Dr. Hassan also praised the continuous efforts of the College in research, teaching, and training with Qatar University and the College's contribution towards Qatar's development.  'This MoU will be six years long, which will diversify programmes and partnership between these two institutions, he added.

Acting President of CNA-Q, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, commented: 'We consider Qatar University, a long-term partner. We have a history of collaboration across different disciplines. It is a commitment from both entities to offer our students the best possible education, develop their skills, and prepare them for the professional workplace. We want them to become active members of the community and participate in the country's economic growth. The MoU we have signed is an important milestone in the journey that our College is taking. We are gradually offering applied bachelor's degree programmes, and we will soon become the first applied university in Qatar.
