(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Doha English Speaking School (DESS) yesterday welcomed British ambassador John Wilkes and his wife.
The dignitaries toured the new state-of-the-art facilities built for Year 7 & 8 and set to open in September 2021.
Students from DESS showcased their musical talents for the guests while he visited the new cutting-edge Music Technology suite, according to a statement.
Established in 1979 and formally opened by Queen Elizabeth II and His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, DESS remains proud to be one of the longest established and leading British curriculum schools in Qatar, it was explained.
Following the opening of Year 7 in 2021, DESS will continue the expansion of its senior school by opening Year 8 in September 2022, to become the only not-for-profit preparatory school in Qatar.
As a member of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS); a UK kitemark of excellence in education, DESS will focus on providing the best possible education for children aged 3-13.
Awarded the highest graded 'Outstanding by BSO inspectors, students are challenged to achieve academic excellence within a community, family orientated school which offers not-for-profit education in a child focused and caring environment.
