ST LUCIA / SVG - Saint Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines are at dangerous intersections of COVID-19.

View Fullscreen Saint Lucia's ministry of health (MOH) reported three COVID-19 related deaths in one week, confirmation of another cluster of 34 positives cases and 219 negatives, which brings the total number of cases diagnosed in the country to date to 611.
On January 13, 2021, the MOH confirmed the island sixth COVID-19 related death - a 52-year-old male, a national of the United Kingdom . He arrived in Saint Lucia on December 30, 2020, and died on January 9, 2021, and was not in care at the time of his passing.
According to MOH: "The seventh COVID-19 related death is a 69-year-old male from the Gros-Islet district. At the time of his passing, the individual was not in care at the hospital. He has no known past medical history.
"The eighth COVID-19 related death is a 49-year-old male from the Soufriere district. He was in care at the time of his passing. The individual has a history of underlying medical conditions."

"The reported COVID-19 cases are all Saint Lucian nationals ranging in age from one year to 64 years. They are from the Castries, Soufriere, Babonneau, Gros-Islet, Dennery, Anse La Raye and Vieux-Fort," said MOH.
Meanwhile, there are reports of a COVID-19 related patient – a high profile member of society with connections in the government of Saint Lucia – has been transferred out of country. The patient is doing well in care.
