Beirut port inks accord with French firm over reprocessing debris

(MENAFN) According to a report by the National News Agency, on Friday Jan.15, Lebanon's Beirut Port Administration inked a deal with a French firm to arrange a study on reprocessing the debris that has been left behind after the huge blast.

In a ceremonial, in which Lebanese caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transportation Michel Najjar, Head of the French Embassy's Economic Affairs department Francois De Ricolf, and senior Lebanese officials together with envoys of the French firm were present, the accord was inked between the port's administration and the Recy Group.

Najjar noted: "the agreement signed today is a donation from the French state to the French company so as to prepare a study on recycling rubble and debris at Beirut port," hoping for "success in carrying out its tasks in the interest of the port."
