(MENAFN)Italy listed one million people vaccinated against COVID-19 on Friday, being the country with the highest number of first doses directed in the EU.
Italy obtained over 1.46 million doses of vaccine; some 66 percent have already been injected, stated an official data.
On Friday, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte posted on twitter that “Italy is first in the EU for the number of people vaccinated. This is encouraging data. Let’s continue like this, keeping our guard high.”
The vaccination campaign is putting priorities in injecting medical workers and nursing home staff and residents. Then Italians over 80, Italian health authorities plan to cover the whole Italian population by fall.
