Iran: production of red meat in Iran reaches 36,200 tons


(MENAFN)Production of red meat in Iran reached at 36,200 tons in the ninth month of the present Iranian year, presenting 27 percent increase in comparison with the previous year same period, while 3.5 percent increased in comparison with December.

Beef and veal had the lion’s share in the country’s red meat output in the ninth month with 20,400 tons, followed by lamb and mutton with 12,400 tons, goat meat with 2,700 tons, and red meat from other livestock with 709 tons, as reported SCI.

The head of Iran’s Livestock Provision Council has called on the government to purchase the red meat at certain prices to support the producers.
