Turkey exports USD 107 M worth of flowers in previous year

(MENAFN)Over USD 107 million values of flowers were exported from Turkey to 83 countries in the previous year even with the Coronavirus pandemic.

The figure of branches of flowers sold abroad amounted at 505 million in the past year, most of them carnations, stated the Ornamental Plants and Products Exporters Union, which symbolized the export of cut flowers, indoor and outdoor plants, flower bulbs, and wreaths.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ismail Yilmaz head of the association stated that, starting this year with overcast figures because of the virus, Turkish flower exporters made pleasurable shipments as of June due to beating of production in competitor countries.

He further said that "Countries such as Spain and Italy could not plant flowers during the pandemic [...] Apart from that, not many flowers came to Europe due to decrease in the number of flights in some countries."
