Fatah, Hamas attempt to set aside disagreements to hold polls


(MENAFN) According to Palestinian political experts and observers, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement and Hamas movement and attempt to set disagreements aside to hold general polls in the Palestinian territories.

Hamas was set to put an end to the internal separations and hold a general poll, affirmed Ismail Haniyeh, the politburo chief of Hamas, while talking to Abbas in an official letter.

Abbas appreciated the action and stated he would uphold the initiative of putting an end to divisions, developing partnership, and achieving nationwide union.

Hana Nasser, chairperson of the Palestinian Central Elections Commission, was also invited by Abbas to talk about the processes for releasing the decrees linked to holding the polls.
