Jordan- Second military field hospital in Irbid commences work


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Dec. 29 (Petra) -- The second military field hospital at Prince Rashid Ben Al-Hasan Military Hospital in Irbid commenced work on Tuesday, receiving the first COVID-19 case.
A statement by Royal Medical Services Director, Brig. Gen. Adel Wahadneh, said that the field hospital, established on a 4,650-square-metre plot of land, has a 300-bed capacity, including 48 intensive care unit beds, 18 intermediate care beds and 234 beds for mild cases.
"The hospital has all necessary equipment with the aim of enhancing the capacities of hospitals and the government in dealing with the pandemic," he added.
Another field hospital affiliated with the Royal Medical Services is set to be opened within the upcoming weeks, bringing the combined capacity of all field hospitals to 900 beds, including 220 ICU beds.
