France: Public debt hits 116.4 pct of GDP

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Dec. 22, France's national statistic agency INSEE reported that, the country's public debt hit 2,674.3 billion euros (around USD3,255.93 billion) before the end of the July-September period of the present year, making up for 116.4 percent of gross domestic product (GDP).

It further said that, the quarterly rise about USD43,99 billion in public debt, mostly because of the rise in state debt, went slower stridently from the unusual rise of USD243 billion during the April-June period.

France's administration has pointed out that because of spending linked to the pandemic catastrophe, the country's public debt could stand at 117.5 percent of GDP this year. (1 euro = USD1.22)
