Jordan- JMD forecasts relatively cold weather Tuesday

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Dec. 22 (Petra) -- The weather on Tuesday is expected to be relatively cold in most parts of the Kingdom, and fair in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with southeasterly moderate to active winds, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
In the evening, the weather will turn to be colder nationwide, the JMD said, noting that clouds will gradually build up in the late night hours, making a chance of light and scattered rain in the northern regions.
On Wednesday, the Kingdom will be affected by a cold and wet air mass, pushing temperatures down and bringing cold and partly cloudy conditions with spotty showers in the northern and central highlands, stretching to the southwestern and eastern areas, while winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, the JMD predicted.
As for Thursday, the country will remain under the impact of the cold air mass, and mercury will further dip, so cold, cloudy and rainy conditions will continue to persist.
Toward night, rainfall is forecast to taper off and the weather will stabilize, with a possibility of fog formation over highlands and the Badia areas, the JMD noted.
Daytime temperatures for today in Amman will hover around 18 degrees Celsius, dropping down to 6 at night. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 24 degrees and lows standing at 12.
