Citing local sources, YPG/PKK extremist group on Monday attacked villages in Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria to arrest participants in protests against the terror organization.

The sources added that about 50 Syrian citizens were detained by the terrorist group over the past 40 days and were placed in a prison in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

Arab residents of Deir ez-Zor province have participated in protests against the YPG/PKK terrorist group since August, to express their rejection for discrimination against the local population, in addition to poor living circumstances and widespread fraud in the area.

So far, the YPG/PKK fire killed two citizens during the demonstrations.

Deir ez-Zor is a major link between Iran and Lebanon. Pipelines and trade routes from Iraq and Jordan also pass through the province.

Bordering the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, it is currently under the control of the YPG/PKK terrorist group.
