UN Central Emergency Response Fund: Contributors vow USD370m


(MENAFN) The fund stated that more than 50 contributors declared on Tuesday, December 8, vows totaling more than USD370 million for the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) for 2021.

The pledges at Tuesday's high-level pledging meeting are higher than those made at the pledging event a year ago for this year. With top-ups for 2020 also declared on Tuesday, December 8, general financial support for this year has hot USD620 million, stated CERF in a press release.

CERF has a yearly financial support target of USD1 billion.

At the pledging meeting, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that CERF is unique.
