(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) has announced the results of the students' council elections that serve as a communication link between the students, on the one hand, and the College administration and faculty members, on the other hand. This year's elections featured 25 male and female candidates, competing for 12 seats representing CCQ's academic divisions, namely the Sciences and Technology, the Management Science, and the Liberal Arts. Each division had four seats, divided equally between male and female students.
Commenting on this significant milestone, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Fatima Al Naemi, said, 'The students' council is one of the most important communication channels between students and CCQ's management because it allows them to discuss the challenges they face in their academic journey. In other words, the council provides a platform for students' voices and suggestions, and surely no one can represent students better than their fellow students who share the same aspirations and challenges. It is noteworthy to mention that the new council members will have regular meetings with CCQ President, Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al Naemi, and CCQ Vice President, Dr. Khalid Al Abdulqader, to discuss students' suggestions and concerns and to reach suitable solutions.
The council members will also have the opportunity to participate in various committees and present their ideas and proposals to the deans of the academic divisions and represent the College in national and international events and attend the signing of agreements. The winners representing all three academic divisions are Mohammad Hamad Alsuwadi, Salem Yousef Alkhater, Jawaher Abdulaziz Almaadeed, and Aisha Salem Al sheraim (Sciences and Technology Division); Taleb Rashed Almarri, Rashid Mohamed Bastaki, Aljohrh Safar Al-shafi, and Shaikha Khamis Ghabesh (Management Science Division); and Ali Hussain Murad, Mohamed Abdulghani Alsaffar, Amal Salem Raheel Al-ali, and Wadha Abdullah Al-ali (Liberal Arts Division). Due to the COVID-19 precautionary measures, the election process was held electronically. CCQ adopted the two-vote system, where each student has two votes: one for a candidate from the same academic division and the other for a candidate from another division.
