(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The women golfers from Qatar participated in the Captain's Trophy tournament. The 18-hole tournament was a major attraction this year and was played amongst 26 participants at Doha Golf Club's Championship course.
The overall trophy title was won by Nada Mir for the best gross. Pat Yurkiw and Annie Yong NG won the first prize followed by Uzma Mir and Rukkaiya Pachisa securing the second position. Cherehzade Pedder and Alia Rachid took third spot in their respective category. Other winners were Noelle Cassey and Gordana Popovic
DGC ladies Captain Tasnim Kazi sponsored and successfully spearheaded the tournament. She appreciated the participants for their enthusiasm and thanked the club management for their support. The prize distribution was followed by lunch.
Qatar's women golfers are one of the most active groups consistently playing tournaments showcasing their physical as well as mental prowess in the game of golf.
