Arab nations receive 1,200 tons of Azerbaijani honey per year


(MENAFN) Hasan Hatami, the managing executive of West Azarbaijan Industrial Parks firm, stated that the province exports honey to Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, and some other bordering nations.

He stated that 800 persons are openly and indirectly dynamic in the honey sector of the province.

According to Gerold Boedeker, FAO Representative to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the country, as one of the most important nations in the honey sector, has a long-started tradition of beekeeping and throughout recent years could productively augment its yearly output of honey and is now the third-largest honey producer in the world.

Administrator of Iranian Agriculture Ministry"s beekeeping growth plan stated over 112,000 tons of honey was created in the country throughout the prior Iranian calendar year (ended on March 19), about 22,000 tons more than the number for the past year.
