Carrefour Qatar launches week-long shopping fest

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Carrefour Qatar yesterday launched ‘Carrefour Friday' a week-long shopping extravaganza, offering customers ‘unbeatable prices on the most sought-after items' on 2020 holiday wish lists. Running until December 1, Carrefour Friday gives customers the opportunity to purchase a range of quality items and products at discounted prices.
These include discounts up to 50%, and a one-day super sale across all categories, including groceries, electronics, home appliances, and TV, on both, online and in-store. In addition, tomorrow (Friday), exclusive offers on electronics will be available online.
Customers can benefit from the online delivery service to get their preferred goods within one hour, same day or the next day, according to their choice.
Carrefour Friday offers can be availed online at carrefourqatar.com or any of the stores across Qatar.
Carrefour expects to see large numbers of customers snapping up deals across multiple categories including kitchen products, work from home essentials and fitness equipment.
Traditionally, within the top 10 sales categories, baking and cooking appliances are expected to see strong sales as customers pursue new culinary hobbies at home and choose to stay in and eat, rather than visit restaurants. With sales of micro-computers increasing from 10% to 16% this year, coupled with an increase in sales of phone accessories, it is clear that customers are seeking on-screen entertainment and technological efficiency as work from home and remote learning become widespread. Carrefour predicts these will only increase during Carrefour Friday sales, with items such as tablets and other electronics high in demand as professionals look for flexible options to stay connected.
Personal well-being has become a bigger priority for many, and the brand predicts that many customers will spend on fitness equipment, including bicycles, to help them stay fit and healthy at home or outdoors. Recent Carrefour data showed a spike in online search queries by 5% for treadmills and yoga mats. Alongside these predicted top-sellers, Carrefour estimates continued strong demand for last year's leading products such as laptops, toys and games, and beauty and personal care products. In contrast, items likely to fall in popularity this year due to on-going social distancing measures include party dresses, eveningwear, and travel-related items such as suitcases or portable chargers.
Guided by the above insights, the Carrefour Friday sale is bigger than usual and is primarily taking place through e-commerce channels. This comes as the brand continues to digitise and provide more tech-driven experiences for customers.
Shoppers can maximise savings and enjoy MyClub points when they shop online. Meanwhile, Carrefour's online delivery options offer customers convenience and flexibility to either receive their orders at the soonest delivery slot.
