Jordan- Army chief attends Saif Al-Arab military maneuvers


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 25 (Petra)-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major Ge. Yousef Huneiti, alongside his Arab counterparts, has attended two army maneuvers carried out as part of the "Saif Al-Arab-means Sword of the Arabs) joint military drill on Wednesday.
The Arab top soldiers from Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia,the UAE, Bahrain and Sudan attended the main training drill carried out by the participating army units, in addition to a tactical exercise carried out using live ammunition by air forces at Mohammed Najib Military Base, according to a press statement.
The forces demonstrated "high" accuracy and efficiency through joint action among the Arab forces to achieve the required tasks within the set schedule, the statement added.
In a related context, the Arab forces carried out a seperate exercise Tuesday, involving freefall parachuting, which demonstated the extent of commando coordination, coupled with a simulation to storm an armed terrorist outpost within built-up areas, implemented with support of amphibious units, the statement noted.
On the overal goals, the training comes within the framework of supporting joint military cooperation relations among the Arab armed forces, and enhancing the ability to manage and implement joint combat missions using various modern weapons, the statement affirmed.
