Cambodia requires USD91m to fix rural roads


(MENAFN) A spokesman stated on Tuesday, November 24, that Cambodia requires about USD91 million to fix about 3,154 km of rural roads that had been smashed up by latest flash floods.

"The Ministry of Economy and Finance has provided 15 million U.S. dollars for the repairs," Rural Development Ministry secretary of state and spokesman Chan Darong stated in a press discussion, saying that they will look for from development associates for the remaining amount.

Darong stated the repairs have been ongoing since early November and about 111 km of the flood-damaged roads have been reinstated.

The floods had also smashed approximately 4,155 wells, mostly in Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pursat, Pailin, Siem Reap, Preah Vihear, Svay Rieng and Kampong Cham provinces, according to the spokesman.
