Saudi- Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Receive Phone Call from European Council President


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) NEOM, Nov 23, 2020, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received here today a telephone call from Charles Michel, President of the European Council.
At the outset, Michel congratulated King Salman on the distinct success of the G20 summit workings, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He expressed appreciation of the Kingdom for its well-known attested fighting of extremism and combat terrorism. He also expressed the council willingness to consolidate cooperation with the Kingdom, in these domains proceeding from its leading role in the Islamic world.
For his part, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques hailed the relations between the Kingdom and the European Union (EU) member states. He reaffirmed the keenness to cement them in the best ways to realize the interest of the Kingdom as well as of the EU member states and the world security and peace.
The King also pointed out that the Kingdom is usually ahead in taking initiatives aiming at fighting extremist thought and terrorism, on one hand, and promoting tolerance, co-existence among peoples, dialogue among followers of different faith, on the other, sensing its responsibilities towards the Islamic world and Muslims all over the world.
