Kuwait sees 426 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait on Saturday logged 426 new coronavirus infections to raise the total to 139,734, while a pair of fatalities recorded over the past 24 hours upped its death toll from the outbreak to 863, the health ministry said.
The number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 7,311, with 84 of them in intensive care units, according to a Health ministry statement, adding that some 5,667 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 1,047,902 so far.
The ministry had earlier reported that some 511 more people had recovered from the virus over the past day, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 131,560.
The ministry went on to urge citizens and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus. (end)
