(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 8 (Petra) -Results of the annual World Telecommunication/ICT Regulatory Survey of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) 2019 showed that Jordan's Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) has gained an "advanced" level within the fourth-generation regulation (G4), and scored 91.
According to a press TRC release issued on Sunday, the commission said Jordan has attained the first ranking at the Arab level along Saudi Arabia, followed by Morocco, Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman, in the "generation ladder."
The TRC Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Ghazi Jabour, attributed this advancement to many vital organizational initiatives and projects adopted by the commission during 2019, which has enabled it to obtain the 4G status after implementing the optimal organizational environment requirements.
Covering a wide range of ICT policy and regulatory issues and allows to track the latest ICT trends and evolutions, the ITU ranks telecom regulatory bodies globally on analytical methodology, as per the 'ICT Regulatory Tracker,' which collects and analyzes information related to its Member State administrations annually.
The Tracker, developed by ITU, is an evidence-based tool that helps decision-makers and regulators monitor the rapid evolution of ICT regulation.
