(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 8 (Petra)-The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has announced a 'state of medium emergency,' starting Sunday evening, to handle the unstable weather forecast by the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
According to its press release, the ministry called on citizens to take precautions and avoid valleys and lowlands, and to report any emergency situation through direct contact with its main operations rooms nationwide, or via the the smart phones' "notifications" application.
Earlier in its weather update, the JMD said unstable conditions are tipped to affect the country, with "heavy downpour," often accompanied by thunder and hail, in the northern, central and eartern regions.
The JMD also warned of "slippery" roads and "poor" visibility due to fog and dust, particularly in the highlands and the Badia regions.
