(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 7 (Petra)- An official source at the Ministry of Interior has announced the videos, which were circulated on some social platforms showing electoral rallies, held in violation of defense orders to support some parliamentary candidates, are "old," adding that the necessary legal measures have been taken against the violators.
The aim behind circulating these videos at this time as Jordan is preparing to hold the parliamentary elections is to disrupt the electoral process and impede the national efforts exerted to ensure that voting is "easily and conveniently fulfilled," the source added.
The "strictest" legal and administrative measures will be taken against the people who reaired the clips, as this offence serves goals that are "completely inconsistent with the supreme national interest of the Jordanian state," the source pointed out.
Earlier in a bid to ensure compliance with health measures, Minister of Interior, Tawfiq Halimah, had instructed the administrative governors and the security departments to adhere to defense orders and bar electoral rallies.
