Qatar National Library launches virtual visits for schools

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: In a new initiative for students, the Qatar National Library (QNL) has announced the launch of ‘virtual school visits to the Library.' Through the new service, students can learn about various activities and online resources, said the Library on its website.

School visit requests can only be done through the online booking system available in the Library website. The virtual school visits will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.

'Each school may register one slot for either primary or secondary level per month. This condition is in place to give other schools across Qatar the chance to book a visit. A maximum of 30 students can be accommodated in each slot, announced the Library.

The school will automatically get a confirmation email once the online booking has been successfully processed. The school will also receive a link to the virtual school visit by the assigned librarian before the booked date and time.

During the virtual tour, students will also be able to enjoy storytelling time and other activities. According to the Library, Mondays and Wednesdays are allocated for primary levels; Sundays and Tuesdays are for secondary levels. The Library staff will notify the school or its representative of any cancelled booking. The new service has commenced as the Children's Library and the Young Adults' Area remain closed until further notice.
