(MENAFN) On Saturday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed deepest sympathies to Turkey following an earthquake that resulted in the death of 26 people in the Aegean Sea.
At least 830 individuals were also wounded when a 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Turkish Aegean region of Izmir on Friday.
Rouhani affirmed willingness to deliver assistance and medical support to the poor impacted by the Izmir earthquake in a message to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Rouhani stated that, "The earthquake in Izmir that killed and injured many dear people of that region has pained us deeply."
He further included that "The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran declares its readiness to send any kind of relief and medical aid and assistance to the people in the earthquake-hit areas."
